Education

The museum is a great resource for learning about industrial history, in particular the role of precision manufacturing, which touches us all. We invite you to explore our educational offerings, as a means of looking toward the future. What new technologies and systems need to be developed to shape the 21st century?

There is a connection between industrialization and democracy. Our economic and political systems reward innovation. As machine work replaced skilled handwork, it became possible for unskilled workers to produce both necessities and luxuries; but the need for skill and innovation did not disappear. It moved from creation of the product to creation of new machines, new tools, and new systems of production.  Industrialization brought about a kind of democratization of food, clothing, medicine, books, tools, toys, and transportation.

Adult groups, $4 per person.

School groups, $3 per student. One adult is admitted free for each 5 students. Additional adults pay $6 each.

For both adult and student groups, there is a minimum charge of $25. In other words, if you bring 3 students (5 x $3) you would pay $25, not $15. If you bring 9 students (9 x $3) you would pay $27 only, not $25 plus $27.
