The American Precision Museum in Windsor VT has hired Melissa Wilson from New Boston, NH as its first Collections Manager. She will be implementing the museum's Collections Information Project, which is supported by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services, a Federal agency. The project's focus is the organization of an estimated 6,000 three-dimensional artifacts, including machine tools and the products of precision manufacturing, such as rifles and typewriters. She will conduct a complete inventory of all the museum's collections and upgrade records to meet accepted museum standards.

Wilson has a master's degree in Applied History, focusing on American History and museum studies from George Mason University, Fairfax VA and a BA in History from Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg, VA. While in school, she completed internships at Colonial Williamsburg and the Fredericksburg Area Museum, which involved collections and curatorial work. Before joining the American Precision Museum, she served as a seasonal interpreter at the Adams National Historical Park, Quincy MA and taught Western Civilization at New Hampshire Technical College, Nashua, NH.
